(pictured left to right), were recognized as the Teachers of the Month for October at the Board of Directors meeting November 20th. Bobbi (unable to attend) and Madonna teach the Active Student Support for Independence, Skills and Transition (ASSIST) program at Stanwood High School.
Cindy Cutforth (pictured far right) was selected as the Classified Employee of the Month for October. Cindy is the Office Manager at Lincoln Hill High School and Lincoln Academy. Due to a conflict, Cindy's recognition has been rescheduled to the December 4th board meeting.
Bobbi Lemme’s employment with Stanwood-Camano School District began in 1998. She has taught special education for all 14 years and Madonna Konshuk has taught special education for 8 years. In their nomination, written by Gayle Niermeyer, they were described with the qualities of patience, kindness, and tireless advocacy for students. Gayle wrote, “Madonna and Bobbi work exceptionally hard to run the ASSIST program at the high school. They work with many high-needs students, all with different levels and goals, yet they manage to approach the challenges of their job positively and work collaboratively to find creative solutions to help meet the needs of their students.”
Cindy Cutforth has been with the District for 20 years. She was first hired as an Instructional Assistant (leave replacement) at Church Creek Elementary School, then hired as an Instructional Assistant continuing in that position until 2004 when she was added as a part-time secretary in the new parent partnered program. Cindy became a full-time secretary at Saratoga School for one year and is currently the Office Manager at Lincoln Hill High School and Lincoln Academy for the past 6 years. Maurene Stanton, Principal, wrote in her nomination, “Cindy Cutforth works countless hours ensuring the new Alternative Learning Experience regulations are adhered to meticulously at Lincoln Hill High School. She takes the initiative to examine the ALE program looking for ways to improve services to students and maintain accuracy of records.”
